Every month there are lots of activities here in El Puerto de Santa Maria and we at Spark are always trying to find new events and activities for everyone to enjoy! This month is no different. It is jam packed month from live music events to flamenco shows to astronomy events!

Muestra de Teatro Portuense

Teatro – III MUESTRA DE TEATRO PORTUENSE: una ventana al teatro aficionado en el Puerto que contribuye a divulgar la labor que estos grupos vienen realizando desde hace años.
Theatre – Portusense Theatre Shows: A window into the amateur theater in el Puerto which helps publicise the work that these groups have been carrying out for years.

LLANTO POR IGNACIO SÁNCHEZ MEJÍAS – Inspirado en la obra de Federico García Lorca.
Ballet Flamenco De Andalucía. Dirección artística y coreografía: Rubén Olmo. Sobre aquellas coplas a la muerte de Sánchez mejías que nos regaló el autor del Romancero gitano, el ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, de nuevo con Rubén olmo como director artístico y coreógrafo, emprende un largo viaje cuya banda sonora lleva guiños de tangos granadinos o de ‘el amor brujo’ de Manuel de Falla. Se trata de una propuesta escénica rica en matices musicales en donde la Compañía profundiza en el flamenco aunque con matices contemporáneos”.

Crying for Ignacio Sanchez Mejias – Inspired by the work of Federico Garcia Lorca.
Andalusian Flamenco Ballet. Artistic direction and choreography: Rubén Olmo. On those songs to death mejías Sanchez gave us the author of Gypsy Ballads, Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, again with Ruben elm as artistic director and choreographer, a long juorney in which the band takes winks of tangos granadinos and of the bewitched love of Manuel de Falla. It is a richly nuanced proposal stage musical in which the Company explores flamenco but with contemporary nuances.

Danza – EDOM Centro Andaluz de Danza. Este espectáculo es el fruto de un programa de dos años del Centro Andaluz de Danza en el que los bailarines tienen la oportunidad de trabajar con maestros de reconocido prestigio. la fusión de disciplinas distintas y la participación en diversas especialidades es una muestra de los diversos lenguajes que adquieren en el Centro Andaluz de Danza y que pretende aportar projunio fesionales con un estilo propio al mundo de la danza.

Dance – EDOM Centro Andaluz de Danza. This show is the result of a two year program of Centro Andaluz de Danza in which the dancers have the opportunity to work with renowned teachers. • Domingo 16 – SENDERISMO PLAYERO: “Caños de Meca – Barbate”

Canos de Meca – Barbate

Realizaremos un recorrido por uno de los parajes más espectaculares del litoral gaditano, a través del pinar de la breña y por encima del acantilado de barbate, frente a las costas africanas. Disfrutaremos de un refrescante baño en la playa de la Yerbabuena para culminar el día en el pueblo de Barbate. Longitud del recorrido: 7 kilómetros. Dificultad: baja.

• Sunday 16th – HIKING BEACH: “Canos de Meca – Barbate”

Take a tour of one of the most spectacular Cadiz coast, through the pines of the forest and over the cliff of Barbate, off the African coast. Enjoy a refreshing swim at the beach for Peppermint to finish the day in the town of Barbate. Length of trail: 7 miles. Difficulty: Easy.

EL LIBRO DEL MES: Rayuela de Julio Cortázar. Los días 13 y 15 de Junio se celebran el día del escritor Argentino y el día del libro Argentino respectivamente. Con este motivo, la biblioteca se suma a dicha celebración con la instalación de un stand con las obras más representativas de la literatura argentina, una de las más prolíficas e influyentes de América latina.

THE BOOK OF THE MONTH: Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar. The 13th and 15th of June will celebrate the day of the Argentine writer and book day Argentino respectively. Ruta sencilla de unos 30km en bicicleta. Partirá desde el CRI (a la entrada del camino del tiro pichón) y recorrerá las lagunas y las casas de las viñas. En la zona de menos iluminación artificial, montaremos el equipo para observar más de cerca la luna y sus encantos. Es una actividad que se realizará con dos guías y un especialista en Astronomía y es totalmente gratuita. Requisitos: Casco, chaleco reflectante, luz y bicicleta propia. Límite: 50 ciclistas.

Con este proyecto se pretende apoyar e impulsar las pequeñas actividades, empresas, y producciones agroalimentarias artesanales, tradicionales y ecológicas de nuestra Campiña. Las muestras estarán constituidas por 20 puestos/stands, en donde se expondrán productos agroalimentarios artesanales y ecológicos variados, tales como: huerta tradicional y ecológica,
aceitunas, almendras, pan y pasas, pasteles, quesos (de cabra ecológicos, etc…), vinos (tradicionales y ecológicos), chacinas, aceite ecológico, vinagres, miel y derivados de la colmena, aromáticas, semilleros, etc…
This project aims to support and encourage small activities, businesses and craft agricultural food products, traditional and ecological  from our countryside. Samples shall consist of 20 stalls / stands, where they will present varied craft and organic food products, such as traditional ecological garden,
Olives, almonds, raisin bread, cakes, cheese (goat ecological, etc …), wines (conventional and organic), pork, organic olive oil, vinegar, honey and derived from the hive, herbs, seed, etc. …
