Mission Statement: Emmanuella Graf

My goal during this work and school experience is to get out of my comfort zone and establish new personal work habits that I can profit of in future jobs and work opportunities. Since I have never worked for more than a week, I want to use this to gain confidence in working. I will stay motivated and do the things whole-heartedly even if I have some difficulties. Because doing the things motivated makes them easier.

Since I also want to benefit from this in the social area, I will also use every chance that I get to communicate even if it is uncomfortable, because it’s the only way that I can really profit from it. Because it’s obviously good to know the theory of the language but it’s direct use in communication is what makes it beautiful and useful.

Something that goes along with using all opportunities to communicate is that I will try new things in general. Because the only way to get to know a new culture, which was my reason of travelling to Spain, is to feel it. And that can only be accomplished by trying. In view of the fact that I want to travel later in life and get to know new cultures and places, right now is a great moment to experience it for the first time, since I’m still young and adaptable.

I will also keep my goals in mind at every part of the journey even if I fail sometimes, because failure is an important part of reaching my goals. Because mistakes bring me knowledge of what to not do again and try different approaches. It’s the best way to figure out what I’m already good at and in what I need to improve on. And that leads gaining confidence in what I’m doing.

And the last thing is that I will train habits of an inside out person. Because almost everything that happens in my life is controlled by me and not my surroundings. Because my thoughts are what leads to where I can be in life. By putting myself out there and talking to other students or the fellow staff I can control that they see my corporative, approachable and open side.

But more generically said: I will use every chance that I’m given to improve.
