A language school which provides excellent language classes has a further challenge to address – teaching outside of the classroom.
As education stretches beyond the boundaries set by the classroom, Spark Spanish established from the opening day that sharing every day with our students contributes to a warm and friendly atmosphere in the Spark cultural residence – also providing more opportunities for our students to keep learning the language. Furthermore, Spark also decided to provide little and very meaningful resources for students to learn Spanish whilst discovering Spain.
For example: the ‘Libro de los Records’ (a book used in our Spanish classes) sets challenges for students to use Spanish, the ‘Spark Fax’ allows discounts in the local area whilst interacting with the community, and the cultural, social and sports programme is just a part of our fresh approach towards language learning.
Discover Spain is a weekly activity which is part of the cultural, social and sports programme. We set forth the structure for students of all Spanish levels and all ages to experience a unique moment. It is about seeing a beautiful and yet authentic place around Cadiz Province and getting to know students and staff members in a social context using as much Spanish language as possible. The close contact with the Spanish culture through the locals makes the whole of Cadiz Province our play ground to practice Spanish and create new memories along the way.
The details of Discover Spain:
> A trip to Sanlucar to watch the sunset from a unique roof-top and explore the historic bars around the old town.
> An afternoon in San Fernando, going to one of the “off the beaten track” spots, taking an inside tour at the oldest pastry shop in Cadiz Province and visiting the famous Peña de Camarón.
> Discovering the unique spots around Cadiz City and the local Flamenco artists.
> Watching the sun set in Chipiona whilst sherry tasting and eating scrumptious typical food.
> Walking along the beach in Valdelagrana and getting to know Spanish people from that area.
> Going to Zahara de los Atunes to explore the wonderful “Playa de los Alemanes”.
> Kayaking around the Bay of Cadiz while learning why and how 200 years ago the French invasion could not take over San Fernando and Cadiz City and therefore Spain remained Spanish.
