Hola, compañeros y compañeras! 👋
I’m one of the many work experience students here at our Spanish language school, and I wanted to share a quick reminder — something simple, but important: Let’s keep thinking about our environment, even while we’re focusing on verbs and vocabulary.
We’re learning a new language — and building better habits at the same time.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget the little things when you’re running to class or concentrating on grammar. But those little things really add up. Here are a few ways we can all help — without much effort:
Recycle properly
There are bins for paper, plastic, and general waste in the school — let’s use them right. It only takes a second to sort things, and it really does make a difference. Remember to clean anything dirty first.
Save electricity
Before you leave the classroom:
- Turn off the lights if no one else is staying
- Close laptops or put them in sleep mood.
- Unplug chargers if you’re done.
- And most of all make sure the air con is off whenever you leave the room.
- Also in normal use the air con at temperatures between 22-24, allowing it cool the room over time rather than just putting it on 16C and then getting cold!
These are small actions, but they help reduce energy waste — at school and at home.
Go digital when you can
Most of us already use phones or tablets for class notes. If you don’t need to print something, don’t. And if you do, try to print double-sided. Less paper = less waste. Also check its format before printing and if only need one page of 4 document, just print the right page.
Bring your own bottle or cup
Reusable water bottles or coffee mugs are a great way to avoid unnecessary trash — and they look nicer too!
Why this all matters?
We’re part of a school that cares about more than just language. Learning Spanish is amazing — it opens doors, builds connections, and teaches us new ways to see the world. So why not also be a little kinder to that world while we learn?
Let’s keep doing our part, even in small ways. And maybe, next time someone asks you how to say “recycling” or “energy saving” in Spanish — you’ll already know! 😉
Gracias por cuidar nuestro planeta.
