Become an Au Pair and Learn Spanish in El Puerto de Santa Maria

If you would like to become an Au Pair and learn Spanish in El Puerto de Santa Maria then ask Spark to help you and allow us to take you through the process and guide you on your way to a fantastic learning experience!

Spark would set up the aupair placement provide you with a welcoming, local family and of course providing support throughout the aupair placement. Also if you wanted you could take with us a Spanish Course for Aupairs for 2 or 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday.

Key aspects

Au Pair Responsibilities
Working with a timetable arranged with family, tasks include: 1.) providing a linguistic and cultural experience for the children, babysitting in evenings and 2.) basic domestic duties including cleaning, cooking (no more than 2 hours a day). Aupair work up to 6 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Host Family Responsibilities
Free individual room, meals, Pick-up and drop-off at Jerez Airport or El Puerto train station, provide linguistic and cultural experience for Au Pair, contact prior to arrival, provide Spanish course at Spark, 50 Euros a week, one free day a week
Classes*1 10 or 20 General Spanish (note these are not included in the set up cost see note *1 below) classes + 4 day social and cultural events.
Timetable Aupairs work timetable is set with the family and could be morning or afternoon and could include one weekend day. If doing Spanish classes, these are 10h-12h (half course) or 10-14 (full course) Monday – Friday. Cultural Activities can be in the afternoon or evening.
Availability July and August for 4 or 8 weeks
Minimum age 16
Retribution Aupairs receive 50€ in pocket money per week directly from the host family.

*1 please note that Spanish classes are an optional additional expense with the Aupair programme and that whilst we encourage Aupairs to take classes, in order to get most out of the experience, unlike the Demi-Pair programme, they are not an obligatory part of the programme. These means that if the family needs the aupair to work in the morning they may not be able to attend the group class and may need to do our individual and conversation evening classes instead.
